It is used to wrap (something, such as a book or a piece of meat) in tough clear plastic film that is then shrunk (as by heating) to form a tightly fitting package
Shrink Wrap also shrink film, is a material made up of polymer plastic film. When heat is applied, it shrinks tightly over whatever it is covering. Heat can be applied with a handheld heat gun (electric or gas), or the product and film can pass through a heat tunnel on a conveyor.
Shrink Wrap is suitable for a broad range of applications:
1. Tamper evident seals, Pre-forms and full body sleeve labels.
2. Shrink wrap is best to use with sharp-edged containers.
3. Shrink wrap can be designed with colors, words, pictures and logos that promote your products.
4. Shrink wrap is one of the few packaging materials that's useful for any size project. Small electrical wires are often shrink wrapped to prevent exposure to moisture.
5. Many foods that need to be preserved, either for transport or to extend shelf life, are preserved in shrink wrap.
